  1. Every claimant should appeal any benefit sanction placed on them. the DWP know full well Benefit sanctions are supposed to be the last resort not the first thing they apply when a claimant fails to meet what is required of them. If the sanction is used first the Claimant wins the appeal as the DWP are required by law to prove they tried other options before applying the sanction.
