  1. Modern obesity is a result of trans-fat consumption – over 90% of cases. The doctors like to call them “unsaturated fats” and recommend that you consume them ‘cos the other trans fat conditions make them lots of cash e.g. CV disease, type 2 diabetes Alzheimers etc.. The only treatment that the victims of the medical profession will get is to reinforce their bad habits – made easier by the governments refusal to ban, or at least label these deadly poisons. Many obese people, contrary to the deliberately false media images, are on low calory diets anyway but they do not work. This is because their metabolisms have slowed as a result of the poisoning and this can exceed a 90% reduction in some cases.

Next time you buy a bottle of “healthy” rapeseed oil or sunflower oil ask yourself the following question:

“Does the lack of a ‘hydrogenation’ warning mean that the oil has not been passed through a hydrogenation plant OR does it mean they turned off the hydrogen to the hydrogenation plant in order to make you sicker?”

The governements policy is yet again to “blame our victims”

    • There are many factors in obesity, e.g. weight gain. Medications, the hormone in the gut not signalling the brain to switch off feeding, and so on,…..

      • The factors you mention existed prior to the big rise in obesity which coincided with the introduction of artificial trans fats as found in vegetable oils plus a phase lag – and are minor components. The term “spare tyre” was coined in the 1960’s when margarine use was becoming more widespread (encouraged by the doctors who profit enormously from trans fats) and the trans fat conditions such as type 2 diabetes which is caused by the trans fatty acid poisoning of the short electron transport chain in pancreatic beta cells. Insulin resistance is caused by the TFA poisoning of cell walls is part of the metabolic syndrome (reduced metabolism) which is the main cause of obesity today. In severe cases metabolism can be reduced in excess of 90%.

  2. To be fair then this should include heart patients who refuse to follow whatever orders are placed by doctors and cancer patients who refuse certain types of treatments.

  3. Many rugby players are classified as obese but they can run around like a scalded cat does that mean when they get injured they get nothing. Some obesity is a secondary issue caused by other recognised medical problems like polycystic ovaries Addison disease diabetes graves disease metabolic disorders oh and lets no forget being financially able to buy healthy foods

  4. Regardless of side effects, etc.

The “intent” is irrelevant – what’s being established is a conditional gateway of acceptability for benefits which can be rapidly expanded. Especially as the government thinks that things like how willing you are to do unpaid work…and that it classes low income as a factor…and remembering that many people on UC will be subject to in-work conditionality…

That’s also, of course, using the crude measure of BMI and persecuting many people whose weight is actually fine for their bone structure, etc.
