Danny Alexander: ‘I’m Sorry’ About ‘Bedroom Tax’ (Video)

Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Danny Alexander MP, has apologised to social housing tenants who have been put through unnecessary anxiety and stress, and in some cases evicted from their homes, as a result of the controversial ‘bedroom tax’. However, he defended the party’s stance on supporting the introduction of the widely hated policy.

Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg was criticised by Labour after announcing that the party could no longer support the ‘bedroom tax’ – a coalition government policy they voted in favour of –  in its current form and now believe sick and disabled people should be exempt.
